Technology seldom comes cheap. Although the tariff of mobile phone operators has been on a downscale, the same can’t be said about the pone bills. Mobile phones are the key to a teenager’s social life. They usually end up making parents pay exorbitant amounts for their bills. Prepaid phones are a solution to keeping control on that unneeded last phone call. Moreover, it imbibes a sense of responsibility on the teenagers and teaches them how to keep control of their social needs. The extension to this darker side of technology is that too many teenagers are losing their compressed and ultra sleek phones which are always more expensive than the more common bulky blocks.
It can well be observed that the benefits overpower their downers. However, there are certain “no-nos” that should be kept in mind. Mobile phones should be strictly prohibited during class. Heavy users should be advised to use headsets. Moreover, the monthly allowance should be set at appropriate levels.
